CONNIE McLAUGHLIN
Connie McLaughlin is a highly rated and in demand broadcast journalist and presenter. Connie is a familiar face across football and rugby coveragee for BBC’s Final Score, BT’s Sport Score, Premier sport as well presenting sport for the BBC News Channel and BBC Scotland - The Nine.
You’ll no doubt have heard Connie across BBC 5 Live on their Breakfast or Drive programs, or on her own BBC morning radio show called Sunday Morning with Connie McLaughlin, with a weekly guest covering two hours of music and conversation with a faith and ethical perspective.
Having established herself in radio as a presenter and reporter at Radio Clyde in Scotland, Connie became a regular Scottish reporter on BBC 5 Live and has also presented on Sky Sports News Radio and BBC Radio Scotland.
Connie, originally from Glasgow fell in love with football from an early age, going to her first match at the age of 5 and as a 12 year old she became just as passionate with Serie A and in particular Juventus-forcing her friends to ditch kids Saturday morning TV for Gazzetta Football Italia.
She always wanted to be a journalist and after studying Social Science with Politics and Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2002, she went on to undertake a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the university of the West of Scotland in 2007.
Connie’s BT career has included reporting on Saturday Morning Savage, Early Kick Off and BT Sport’s Women’s Super League.
As well as Football, Connie has also presented several BBC Boxing Specials in 2019 and has covered sports ranging from World Championship Swimming to International Bowls.
In 2015 after being awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership, Innovation and Coaching, Connie started wellness consultancy Inner Buzz and used her knowledge of mindfulness, positive psychology and meditation to help Premier League Football Teams and players north and south of the border with performance. As well as having regular corporate clients in Chicago and Los Angeles.
She’s a regular speaker and media contributor in the UK and US and uses her knowledge as the basis for her Sunday Morning BBC Scotland radio program.
She’s passionate about animal welfare and was lucky enough to spend time volunteering with a dog charity in Bali in 2017 and now campaigns for DALI Dogs after rescuing her Cypriot street dog Luna with their help.
