Jim Moore is a Belfast-born BBQ enthusiast, award-winning content creator and live-fire cook based in Northern Ireland. Known for his down-to-earth style, humour and passion for BBQ, Jim has built a loyal following of over 1.9 million across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok under the handle @Onlyslaggin. His short-form videos regularly reach millions, with multiple clips achieving 24M-48M views, making him one of the most engaged voices in the UK & Ireland BBQ scene.

 

Jim’s audience includes not only everyday home cooks but also chefs, restaurateurs and celebrities who follow his content for its authenticity, creativity and entertainment value. His reputation within the industry has grown organically, with recognition from respected names in food, hospitality and media.

 

Jim’s love for cooking was first sparked in his grandmother’s kitchen, later honed by working in restaurants, and deepened through his travels across the US, Australia, Mexico, the Middle East and Europe.

 

As a member of a two-time Irish BBQ Championship Team and a KCBS-certified BBQ judge, he has competed on the BBQ circuit and worked extensively with global brands like Kamado Joe, Weber UK and Yeti, taking on multi-year ambassador roles, hosting demos, masterclasses, and creating standout branded content.

 

In 2024, Jim joined Kamado Joe & Yeti on a behind-the-scenes tour of Texas BBQ, including visits to the first Michelin-starred BBQ restaurants in the US. That trip has since grown into a fully-fledged BBQ travel business, with Jim and his business partner set to lead a 20-person culinary tour to Austin in 2026, featuring four masterclasses with top pitmasters, live music and immersive food experiences.

 

Jim is also working on his debut cookbook, combining education with approachable, flavour-packed BBQ recipes where he blends his travel inspiration with tasty, achievable cooks designed for both backyard grills and home kitchens. His content bridges food and travel, having also partnered with local tourism boards and Visit Austin in the US to spotlight the city’s culinary culture beyond BBQ.
