Championship Norwich U23 captain, Adam Phillips, was called up to the first team for the Canaries away game against Brentford last Tuesday. Adam didn't make it off the bench but this shows his talent and fast progression at the club since moving from Liverpool in the Summer. Congrats Adam!
Sam Gallagher was involved in two good results for Birmingham City, the first was Saturday's draw away at Derby and the Wednesday evening's 1-0 win at home against Sheffield Wednesday! Birmingham now look to climb out of the relegation zone, as temporary manager Lee Carsley takes over after seeing Harry Redknapp sacked last week.
Stephy Mavididi and Chris Maxwell are both still contributing to the results for Preston North End, the team now climbing up to 5th in the Championship table. Stephy has been called up to the England U20s squad for games against Italy and Czech Republic in October and Chris has also been called up to the 25 man Wales squad to compete in 2018 Russia World Cup!
League One
Ryan Leonard, who has won 'Player of the Year 'award three times for The Shrimpers, continues to shine for Southend United in League One, as they win two games on the trot.
Premier League 2
Corey Whelan and Lloyd Jones clean sheet for Liverpool U23 in Premier League 2, making it 6 consecutive wins and only conceding 3 goals collectively. Corey Whelan has taken over from Harry Wilson as captain of Liverpool’s U23 side, with manager Neil Critchley highlighting the attributes which make him the right choice. Antony Evans scored two for Everton U23 in the midweek fixture against Arsenal U23! Everton went on to win the game 4-2, leapfrogging the gunners in the Premier League 2 table.
It's been a great week for Alex Pascanu, with two solid performances at the back for the Foxes - a clean sheet for Leicester U23 against Chelsea U23 in their 2-0 win and Alex also played in last night's game against Hertha Berlin II, where they won 3-0 in the Premier League International Cup!
Additionally, Alex has been called up to the Romania U21 squad, to play against Switzerland in the first round of the u21 Euros on Friday 6th October!
