Crown Football Round-Up

Brilliant news this week, as Plymouth Argyle’s Ryan Edwards has been given the all clear after his recent diagnosis with testicular cancer! We can’t wait to see Edwards back and dominating the pitch! “Come pre-season, July 1st, I’ll definitely be ready for that. Even in the Championship! Who knows?”

Argyle manager Derek Adams said, “There is no doubt that we would like him back and there is no doubt that Ryan Edwards would like to be back playing.”

Ryan will be attending the Argyle Legends game this Sunday at Camborne FC, raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Nottingham Forest defender Danny Fox has signed a new one-year contract with the club and is delighted to have committed his future to The Reds. "I am enjoying every minute of it. I just want to stay fit and hopefully I can contribute to some good performances and some good results from now until the end of the season, come back in pre-season and start fresh and hopefully the start of something special next year." Danny started his career at Everton and initially joined the Reds on loan from Southampton in January 2014 and signed a three-year deal in May 2014.

Congratulations to Everton U23 midfielder Antony Evans, who has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for March. Evans, 19, featured in the round of 16 of the PL Cup and the attacking midfielder scored a stunning free-kick in a 2-0 win over Swansea City. Check it out below:

Great news for Leicester City U23’s as they reach the Premier League 2 semi-finals after their

2-0 win over Wolves, which included Alex Pascanu in the starting line-up. It was a tense opening at Holme Park with neither side able to forge a clear-cut goal-scoring opportunity, but a deflected strike from Liandro Martis and a second-half goal by Harvey Barnes gave the Foxes a safe passage.

Rovers moved to within a point of the Premier League 2 title after a convincing win over Newcastle United, with Tyler Magloire featuring in the starting eleven. Goals from Stefan Mols and Joe Nuttall came in the second half, with an assist from Jack Evans. A draw or victory over Aston Villa next Monday will see the side promoted to Premier League 2, Division 1. Good luck boys!
