Last week, Rovers announced the permanent signing of striker Sam Gallagher from Southampton. The 23-year-old, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Ewood Park during the 2016-17 season, returns to Rovers on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Sam has high hopes for Rovers this season and he is excited by the way the squad is beginning to take shape."That's what Tony wants to build," added the striker, who has been joined at Ewood Park this summer by experienced midfield duo Stewart Downing and Bradley Johnson.

Brighton Hove and Albion goalkeeper Christian Walton has signed for Blackburn Rovers on a season long loan. The towering stopper, who stands at 6ft 5in tall, has spent the past two seasons with Wigan Athletic, helping them secure promotion back to the second tier. He kept 19 clean sheets in 31 league appearances during the 2017-18 season, as the Latics pipped Rovers to the League One title, whilst also keeping a shut-out in the 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup.Walton returned to the DW Stadium for a second loan spell last season, starting 34 league games and playing a prominent role in Wigan securing their Championship status.

Experienced striker Byron Moore has made a permanent move to Plymouth Argyle from Bury. And it took just two minutes of his Argyle debut to score in the pre-season victory at Buckland.

Corey Whelan has signed for American Championship side Phoenix Rising from Liverpool. Corey, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at the U-21 level internationally, spent time on loan last season with Sky Bet League Two club Crewe Alexandra.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis signed his first professional contract with Man City, before heading out on their pre-season tour to Asia. Taylor made his debut and played a full 90 minutes for the Blues in their match against West Ham.

Arsenal defender Ben Sheaf has signed a season long loan with Doncaster Rovers. Speaking on the loan move, Ben said: “I’ve played at centre-back in the past couple of seasons but I was in midfield prior to that - but I enjoy either and will do my best.I like to get on the ball and make things happen, I’m really excited and looking forward to getting going now."
